Up anchor by 09:00 and on the way to Gulfport. Motored and motor-sailed the whole way, arriving just after 14:00 at Gulfport Small Craft Harbor. Neat little town with loads of restaurants and bars within walking distance of the marina. This place was virtually destroyed by Katrina. The water was 30 feet above sea level and pretty much took out the entire harbor and all buildings within half a mile of the beach. They are rebuilding slowly, but it will never fully recover, in my opinion. Terri and I walked into town and had dinner at a restaurant called “Bacchus” (average).

Lazy day in Gulfport. We took the bus ($5/day for a day pass) to Biloxi and had a quick look around town. Then we had a late lunch at (world famous) Mary Mahoney’s.
