John was ill during the night, but we have diagnosed it as dehydration; northern boy not used to southern heat and humidity. After showers, we left Maximo and made our way around the southern end of the St. Pete peninsula, though another couple of bascule bridges and into Tampa Bay. We picked up a mooring ball at the St. Petersburg Municipal Marina. We unlimbered the dinghy and went ashore for a walk around town, ending with dinner at Bella Brava, a nice little sidewalk cafe just off the water-front.

After breakfast, we went ashore and walked over to the Dali Museum, which was absolutely fascinating. We spent 3 or 4 hours taking tours and simply viewing a huge sampling of Dali’s diverse works. After a late lunch at Cassis American Brasserie, including a Kir Royale for the girls, I hopped on the bike and road across town to JSI for a boat part. JSI was like a toy store for boaters: included a huge sail loft, rigging loft, canvas and cushion shop; these guys do everything. We had a late, light meal on board just at sunset - lovely. Just as we sat down to dinner, we looked astern and saw the dinghy floating away from the boat; the securing shackle and chosen that moment to work loose (thank goodness it was at that time and place). I inflated the kayak and paddled to the rescue. The wind got up during the night from the SE, so we had a bit of a rolly night.
