We heard late last evening that the last beer vat is scheduled to come through Pittsford between 09:00 and 10:00, so we got up early to get ahead of them (they apparently tie up the locks for an hour each and then travel slowly, with limited opportunities to pass. First, though, I had to run up to Starbucks for the WiFi, so I could download an update of Navionics charts. We finally got underway shortly after 10:00, immediately transited Locks 32 and 33. Later, we crossed the Genessee River, which flows through the middle of Rochester and into Lake Ontario. Afterward, we passed under 4 lift bridges in Spencerport, Adams Basin and Brockport before tying up at the free town wall at Holley. We had a nice walk down to the waterfall and around town. A bit of trivia: this is the location of the original “Podunk” (see the photo); who knew? Dinner aboard.
