We were up again at the crack of 08:00, awaking to a lovely, warm day; quite a change from last night - a thunderstorm blew through about 00:30 with heavy rain, thunder and lightning. John and Laurie slept through the whole thing. A review of the tactical situation on the chart plotter at 09:00 showed one tow downbound in the Bevill Lock, one tow waiting to lock up and another tow waiting to lock down.  A call to the lockmaster confirmed this, so we settled back and rowed ashore to the adjacent park for a walk in the woods. We fired up the iron genny about 11:15 and motored down to the lock to join nine other PCs in the queue waiting for our turn. We finally got into the lock at 12:20 and after locking through, headed on down river at 12:45. This stretch of the Tenn-Tom Waterway primarily follows the route of the Tombigbee River, so there are lots of bends and meanders. Nevertheless, we made it to our anchorage at Sumpter Recreational Area in time for happy hour.
