We were up just after 04:00 to get Ashley up and down to the bus stop (again) to catch the express to the airport for her 07:15 departure. After we loaded her on the 04:58 bus, we went back to the boat and crawled back in bed for a few more hours of sleep. We finally got up about 08:30 and had breakfast and got ready to go. We left the dock at 10:00 and headed out into the stream of the Fleuve Ste. Lawrence. With 2 or 3 knots of favorable current, we made good time, with a few light, intermittent showers during the late morning/early afternoon. About 14:00, the wind strength improved enough to get the headsail out, so we motored sailed the rest of the afternoon under increasing winds; by 17:00, it was up to SSE 20 knots, which put us on a broad reach or down-wind, depending on which bend in the river we were on. the Pont Laviolette hove into sight just before 17:00 and we rounded up 3 miles downstream of the bridge and pulled into Marina-de-Trois Rivieres just after 18:00. 68 nautical miles in 8 hours; not too bad. An excellent day with no locks and no lift-bridges. It’s a nice little marina, well protected, but the WiFi is pretty much non-existent. We caught a taxi into town to do some grocery shopping at the “Super C”. Then, after showers, it was early to bed.
