Having retired in 2012, my wife and I departed Houston, TX in February 2013, planning to take our time completing the American Great Loop, with no particular time-line. We bought the boat, a 2006 Beneteau 423 sailboat in late 2011. We owned a smaller sailboat years ago and have 40 or 50 weeks cumulative experience chartering sailboats in the Pacific NW and the Mediterranean Sea.
PacNW - 2019
Our second year of cruising "c'est le bon" around the Pacific NW saw us touring Puget Sound as far south as Gig Harbor, WA and up into British Columbia as far north as Pendrell Sound.
