We were up early to catch the morning forecast. Although the SOC and CE were about where expected after 20 hours, the voltage on the house batteries was down to 11.3 V, so there is definitely something wrong. It did not look too bad out in the Strait, so we got underway at 08:30. It was a bit lumpy once we were out of the lee of Lasqueti and Jedediah Islands, but the wind was under 10 knots, on the nose, so we motored for the first three hours. About 11:30, we were pounding into the seas and the wind was up over 10 knots, so we decided to sail for awhile, although we could not quite achieve the lay line. Nevertheless, this resulted in a much easier motion on the boat, in spite of the 13 degree heel. We sailed until 12:55, when we were finally driven up against the coast of mainland BC. As we finally cleared the last headland before the Gibsons Bar, we were able to sail again, nearly up to Plumper Cover, where we picked up a mooring ball at 14:30. Altogether, an excellent day of sailing; good to be back at Plumper Cove again - 3rd time this year. The afternoon was spent on the phone trying to figure out how to effect the essential repairs of the forward water tank; this also involved tearing the forward bunk apart to get some good photos of the affected area. Happy hour and dinner aboard.
