We woke to the alarm at 06:45 and, after a quick breakfast, had the anchor up at 07:30. It was about 30 minutes before slack water, but it looked pretty calm, so we went on through, without drama. After that, it was an easy cruise down Tlevak Strait to Hydaburg, where we tied up at the dock at a few minutes after 10:00. We immediately walked up into town and saw the totem park, had a nice chat with the principal of the local school, watched a bunch of local boys snagging salmon out of the Hydaburg River (there were thousands of them trying to get up the river) and stopped into the carving shed to see what was going on.  The town cafe has closed down, so we came back to the boat for lunch. In the afternoon, we walked back into town to see the fish going upstream at high water, but there is not much water coming down the river; apparently they have not had much rain down here. We also stopped into the grocery store, but they do not have much on the shelves. Back to the boat for dinner.
