Having retired in 2012, my wife and I departed Houston, TX in February 2013, planning to take our time completing the American Great Loop, with no particular time-line. We bought the boat, a 2006 Beneteau 423 sailboat in late 2011. We owned a smaller sailboat years ago and have 40 or 50 weeks cumulative experience chartering sailboats in the Pacific NW and the Mediterranean Sea.
Round Vancouver Island - 2022
This year, we are going to circumnavigate Vancouver Island the wrong way; most people who do this go counter-clockwise, but we are going to go clockwise, in company with our friends, John and Laurie, who accompany us on their boat, "Massilia", a C&C33.
