We were up just after 08:00. Although it was clear and the sun was up, it was not yet shining on the boat, so it was cold down below. As soon as the sun hit the bimini (about 08:30), it warmed up quickly in the cockpit. After breakfast, we had a final goodbye with John, then let go the shore line and had the anchor aweigh at 10:00. We motored SE down Trincomali Channel in very light NW wind. By the time we got to Navy Channel, the wind had freshened enough that we managed to sail for half an hour. It died off in the lee of Saturna Island, so we motored out into Haro Strait, where we cleared into the USA using our CBP Roam app (very cool). As soon as we were cleared (and not required to present ourselves in person at Friday Harbor), we changed course for Maria and were again able to sail for a while. We picked up the mooring ball at Matia just before 15:00 and immediately went for a walk on the 1-mile loop around the island; it is one of our favorite walks on this side of the border.
