We decided last night that we would head over to Rugged Point Marine Park early, to take advantage of the LW on the beach. We got going about 08:00 and motored out into a thick fog in the inlet, which persisted all the way to Rugged Point, where we anchored at 09:21. Everyone was shortly on the way to the beach. The Readshaws took off ahead of us and apparently went a few miles (at least) down the beach, for we never saw them ashore at all. Terri and I walked a mile or so along the beach and then stopped to enjoy the solitude in the rolling fog from a perch on a bit of driftwood. While we were having our lunch, a doe and her fawn walked right up to within about 30 feet of us before they saw us, at which point in time, they both turned around and headed back into the bush. We got back to the boat at about 13:30 and read and dozed for a couple of hours.

Massilia’s crew returned about 17:00 and we upped anchor and motored back to Blue Lips Cove for the night. The fog finally lifted just before we got to the entrance to the cove. We were anchored back in Blue Lips Cove at 18:03. For some reason, the anchor did not set on the first try, so we had to pull it up and try again. The second attempt did the trick. Then it was time for a late happy hour and dinner aboard. The stars were beautiful again.
