We decided to carry the ebb down Ewin Inlet to Resolution Cove, to pay our respects to Captain Cook and his party of exploration. The weather was cool and overcast when we got up and we had a little bit of rain last night. We had the anchor up by 10:18 and motored south along Ewin Inlet. On the way south, we collected the prawn trap, but it only had 2 good sized prawns, a few small ones, an eel and a jelly fish, which made an awful mess of the trap. By the time I had cleaned it up and reeled up the line, we were at Resolution Cove. We anchored on short scope, had lunch and tried to get ashore for a close inspection of the plaques, but it was too much of a scramble. Back at the boat, it occurred to me that I could fly the drone over for close photos of the plaques; I got a couple of still photos of the boats at anchor in Resolution Cove, while I was at it. We pulled out of Resolution about 13:45 and sailed slowly up Zucciarte Inlet while fishing for salmon, but in spite of it’s reputation, neither one of us had a nibble. This was a bit discouraging, when we saw all the fish, salmon and halibut, that all the fishermen staying at Critter Cove had been hauling in. We pulled into Critter Cove Marina about 16:30 and more or less immediately, we all went for long, hot showers; tres bien. After happy hour aboard, we tried out the Critter Cove “Restaurant”, which was limited to soup, chili and sandwiches. We tried the chili, but it was a forgettable bowl of canned chili (I say “forgettable”, except that I remembered it all night long and well into the following morning, and not in a good way). The blackberry pie was OK.
