The early morning forecast was good, so we were up early again for a 06:30 departure, bound for the Goose Group. The anchor was aweigh on schedule and we motored back east across Pruth Bay, turning north into Meay Inlet, between Calvert and Hecate Islands. At the north end of the inlet, we turned NW across Hakai Passage, dodging rocks, islets and shoals to the SW corner of Triquet Island, motoring in very light airs. Past Triquet Island, we headed slightly more northerly across Queens Sound and had our hook down in the lee to the SW of Goose Island by 11:30. As this anchorage is somewhat more exposed than our previous stops, "Massilia" anchored nearby. We spent the afternoon exploring the islands of the Goose Group in kayak and dinghy, along with the tidal shallows and beautiful sand beaches. The sand was so soft that it was not uncommon to sink up to one's ankles when walking along. John scavenged a long length of 1" mooring rope that had washed up on the beach.
