We need to be moving up the coast and the forecast is good: a bit cloudy, but wind is SE 5. So, we had the hook up by 9:30 and motored NW up the Laredo Channel. Passing the north end of Aristazabal Island, we carried on to the NW, crossing Camano Sound and into Estevan Sound, between Campania (to the east) and Lotbiniere (to the west) Islands, all the way to the entrance to Gillespie Channel, between Prior and Trutch Islands, where we turned to the SW. This channel T-bones into Barnard Island, where we turned back to the NW. Just past Tennant Island, we turned to the port into Ethelda Bay and pulled up to the dock of the former radio beacon station, now run by the Tennant Island Conservancy on Barnard Island. A very nice couple, the Pollocks, are currently in residence in the old quarters and very kindly allowed us to come ashore and take hot showers for a nominal fee. Mrs. Pollock was obviously starved for female company and immediately invited the Admirals to tea; they all had a nice chat and we found out everything there was to know about Barnard Island. We also had a nice hike around the island, even though it was cold, damp and windy.
