After a lazy morning, we let go of "Massilia" at 11:30. John had a great deal of difficulty extracting the anchor from kelp, but we finally got away and headed for the Dolomite Narrows. The Narrows is a very tricky bit of navigation, with 3 different sets of leading and following lines to negotiate. We got through without incident and were shortly anchored in Bag Harbour just after 16:00.

We took another day off to enjoy the sea-life in the Dolomite Narrows. Unfortunately, by the time we kayaked and dinghied over to the Narrows, we found that the "Texada", a 100 ft wooden boat that had ostensibly been modified for eco-tourism, hard aground on the rocks of the Narrows, heeled over about 45 degrees and leaking diesel fuel at a great rate. The keel was obviously broken at the bow, with extensive damage to bow deck plates and gunwales. They apparently hit the reef at full speed just after sunrise with a rookie at the helm. It did not refloat on the next high tide; this is a horrible mess and a disaster for the local flora and fauna.
