Thursday morning we left the anchorage at about 06:45 and motored to Talen's Landing, where we filled up the diesel fuel tank. Then, on through Intracoastal City, across the Vermilion River and into Bayou Petite Anse and the Delcambre Canal. After 6 miles up the uncharted channel in water depths of 12 - 14 feet, we found our way to the North Pier Marina in Delcambre, where we were welcomed by Katherine Kenworthy, her husband Jim and dock master, T-Boy Renard. After five days without touching solid ground, this was a very welcome break to our first week of cruising.

We loafed around the boat and tidied up a bit. Later in the afternoon, Mimi drove down from Lafayette to collect us.  We are spending the Mardi Gras weekend with our good friends, Steeve and Mimi Anderson, in Lafayette, going to parades, collecting lots of beads and attending the Sans Sous Ball as their guest. Le c'est les bon temps roulet.
