After breakfast, we went in to have a good look at the Wooden Boat Store. We got back to the boat in time to see the windjammer fleet depart. We were right behind them and all was well, until about 5 minutes after we dropped the mooring, we ran over a lobster pot float; lots of noise and bumps along the side, and then the chopped up float spat out the stern. Nothing else seemed to be amiss, so we carried on through Casco Passage and around the south end of Mt. Desert Island, arriving at Great Harbors Marina in Southwest Harbor, ME about 14:00. As I put the engine astern to back into the slip, there was lots (i.e., an unusual amount) of vibration from the engine/prop; I’m afraid we have a problem as the result of that last lobster pot encounter. We did laundry, had showers and filled up the forward water tank. I also finally discovered why the stuff under the forepeak bed kept getting wet; there is a pin-hole leak in the top of the water tank that leaks when the tank is being filled, and presumably every time the water sloshes around in a seaway. Later, we walked into town for dinner at “Sips”; very nice. 44-16.445’N, 068-19.227’W.

The lobster boat next door woke us early, so we got up at 07:00 and started the day. Terri finished the laundry while I tackled the leak in the forward water tank (silicone and duct tape) and teak-oiled the toe-rails. I also called a diver to check out the prop; he showed up about noon and unwrapped about 3 feet of lobster pot rope from the shaft - hopefully, that will fix the problem. The shaft and prop zincs are fine. We did a medium-sized grocery shop at Sawyers in SWH; nice stuff but a bit expensive. Just as we got back to the boat, it started raining, more or less as predicted. I managed to catch the aft, port-side cockpit enclosure panel in the jib-furling line block (again) and wear another hole in it, so I took the panel into the local sail maker (Acadia Sails) and got another patch sewn on. He had it finished in 2 hours. We had dinner (soup) on board.
