Dawn arrived early, clear and warm. As a result we were both up early and got the anchor up at 07:40 and underway for the 32 N-m trip to Deltaville. Forecast was for a SE wind, but as soon as we got to the east end of Mobjack Bay and into the Chesapeake, the wind naturally went round to the north (i.e., on the nose, again). We motored north along the west coast of the Chesapeake, passing close by the famous Wolf Trap Lighthouse, which from a distance, looks like the “Black Pearl”, from “Pirates of the Caribbean”. Turns out, the lighthouse, which still operates, is for sale, so if anyone is looking for a nice place with waterfront views, well away from the neighbors, let me know. We started in to Deltaville Marina to fuel up, but they had just sold their last 400 gallons of diesel to a trawler, so we had to go all the way round to Fishing Bay Harbor Marina. We took on 42 gallons of diesel and pumped out the holding tanks and then moved off to anchor in the bay. After lunch, we dinked in and borrowed a couple of bikes from the marina and went for a ride around Deltaville. We popped in to West Marine and picked up a couple of items. Cool and breezy at the anchorage, so we had to put the duvet back on the bed.
