We slept through the 07:30 wake up call, but got up and turned the rental car in by about 09:30. When I got back to the MMM, the mail had still not been delivered, so we motored back over to the Deering Dock to fill up with fresh water; this was an interesting maneuver, as we had 2.5 knots of current behind us as we came into the dock, but it all turned out alright. They brought the mail down from the MMM about 11:20 and we left immediately, to catch the best of the ebb current down the Kennebec River. About a mile above the mouth of the river, we hit the fog - a pea-soupah, as they say ‘round he-ah; i.e., visibility of 50 m. Quite exciting dodging lobstah pots, lobstah boats and frequent granite outcroppings. But, the chaht plottah was accurate and the radah worked well, so we made it into Boothbay without incident. We took mooring at Tugboat Inn and Marina and then dinghied into town for a look round. Very pretty Maine town. 43-50.936’N, 069-37.671’W.
