We slept in a bit, then spent the morning waiting for the tide, cleaning the boat and doing a few other chores. Just before noon, we pulled out and headed back down the Susquehanna River. The weather was beautiful, so there were a million power boats out on the water, all of them doing 30 knots and apparently trying to see how close they could come to us; they are all totally oblivious of the wakes they expose us to - very annoying. We picked up the flood on the Elk River and into the C&D Canal, averaging 8.0 kn SOG. As we pulled into Summit North Marina, about 2/3 of the way through the canal, we plowed into the bottom and came to a complete stop. Fortunately, the tide was rising and after about 15 minutes, we floated off and made it into the transient slip without further incident. After cocktails, we walked up to the Aqua-Sol restaurant for dinner and to watch the USA v Portugal match (2 - 2 draw, with Portugal scoring the equalizer with less than 10 seconds left on the clock); dinner was very nice - I had paella and Terri had salmon.
