The tide down the Delaware River turned favorable at noon, so we left the marina about 10:30. It was an uneventful run east on the remaining 8 miles of the C&D Canal, and then we turned south on the Delaware River. The wind went straight to S 23, compared to the predicted 10 - 15. Not a big deal, except that the tide was behind us and the wind was in front, so, it was square waves for the next 18 miles to the Cohansey River. We made the turn into the very narrow entry and decided to anchor behind the island at the mouth, which looked just fine and had plenty of water depth. Unfortunately, after about 3 hours, the rising tide buried the bit of island between us and the waves, so we decided to pick up and move up the Cohansey River a couple of miles. There was plenty of wind and the current was vigorous, but there was no wave action, the anchor held well and we slept comfortably. Today, we have crossed the 4000-mile mark; i.e., we have sailed more than 4000 nautical miles (N-m) since our departure from Houston, TX, lo, 16 months ago. Tempus fugit.
