The predicted thunderstorms stayed off in the distance last night, although we did get a bit of rain as the cold front moved through around midnight; did not bother our sleep. It was cool enough to require a PolarTec this morning. After breakfast, we got the anchor up by 10:00 and headed off down the Potomac with a nice NW wind. We sailed for the first 30 miles (all the way to the Harry W. Nice Memorial Bridge - the last bridge across the Potomac), when the wind finally went slack enough that we fired up the iron sail. We anchored at Cobb Island just after 17:00 and settled in for a lovely evening.
