We rolled out of bed just before 08:00 and were immediately hailed by “Islandia”, who were ready to go to catch the 09:00 bridge opening at Little Current; we advised them to proceed and we would be along directly. The anchor was up by 08:40 and we motor-sailed to Little Current with 11 kn of wind behind us from the ESE. We were tied up at the Little Current Town Docks by 10:15. Then, there was a mad rush to get to the grocery store and LCBO before the rain started; nearly made it, too, but what’s a little rain. The afternoon was spent doing laundry, dodging rain showers and searching for WiFi in The Anchor Bar. Pierre and Sue from “Encore” came into the laundry while we were there, so we had a brief reunion. It rained the rest of the afternoon so we stayed on board for dinner, and Bob and Diane came over in the rain later for a nightcap. During the evening, I noticed that me bum was wet and determined that three of the four cable penetrations at the mast (for masthead lights and instruments) were leaking into the main cabin. I went up in the rain and did a quick jury-rig repair with duct tape, which at least slowed the rate of ingress to tolerable.

The wind was up early in the morning and forecast to increase steadily through the day, so we decided to stay put in Little Current. We lunched with Bob and Diane at the Anchor Inn, made another run to the grocery store and the LCBO and hunted down charts and minor marine accessories. I also fixed the leaking cable penetrations at the mast, at least I hope so. After another dinner aboard, we had a bit of a sing-along and after-dinner drinks on board “Islandia” with a couple of other boat neighbors - “Black Pearl I” and “Mother Ocean”.
