It started to rain just as we awoke at 07:00, so we decided to get underway - might as well be moving as sitting still in the rain. The rain continued all the way to Cayuga Lake and on into the afternoon after we anchored. We entered the Cayuga - Seneca Canal just after noon and transited our only lock for the day (C/S Lock 1) right at 13:00. We carried on a few miles south into the lake and anchored at Springport Cove just after 14:00. Otto, (the auto-helm), after working perfectly yesterday, has apparently gone insane again and is wandering all over the canal, so I ended up hand-steering all the way. Visibility was poor and it continued to rain all afternoon, so we just lazed around the boat; we are due a rest after our grueling week of non-stop travel. The nasty weather is apparently keeping all the pleasure boaters at home, as we have the lake all to ourselves and it is lovely and quiet.
