The weather has improved marginally, although it is still overcast. The wind had shifted around to the north and got up a bit by the time we got out of bed. We weighed anchor at 08:00 and headed south down Cayuga Lake toward Ithaca, NY. Otto, for whatever reason, is behaving well again today; the wake is straight as an arrow. Sure wish I could figure out why it works one day and not the next. We tied up at Allan Treman State Marine Park at noon and, after lunch, walked into Ithaca for a look round. We ended up walking all the way up the hill to the Cornell University campus. On the way back to town, we descended along the Cascadilla Gorge walking path, alongside numerous waterfalls and rapids, right back to downtown Ithaca. I enjoyed a beer at Kilpatricks and we then walked around the corner for a lovely dinner at Moosewood, based on the recommendation of our friend Robin. After dinner, we stopped into the next door Ithaca Guitar Works to play around with their guitars and buy a couple of song-books. According to the Admiral’s FitBit, we walked more than 20,000 steps (or about 10 miles) during the day; my knees were barking when we got back to the boat.
