It was quiet at the dock last night, although we did have the air-conditioner on all night to dampen out the noise from the road above. The alarm went off at 06:00 and we were underway by 06:45. There was a layer of sand and dust (from the road overhead?) covering the boat this morning, but the bug-spray we got yesterday has put paid to most of the spiders on board. Mercifully, the cool front came through last night, so it has cooled off dramatically. The Starved Rock Lock was the first obstacle of the day, but we got in with only a short delay and were back on the move at 08:20. Originally, we had planned to do about 41 N-miles today and anchor for the night at Henry Island, but after clearing the lock relatively rapidly, I realized we could make Peoria by about 16:30, so we pushed on, as there were no more locks. We tied up at the free Peoria City Docks at 16:30, right on schedule. They are nice enough docks, with 20 amp power available, but there are no cleats on which to tie-off. We pulled in in front of another sailboat - “Beauty”, a Catalina 40; they are headed to the Bahamas for the winter. The Astros beat the Rangers again 12-2.
