Another beautiful day in paradise. Dawn broke cool, but clear and nearly calm, W-5. The anchor was aweigh just before 10:00 and we motored the short distance to Turnbull Island, where we anchored at 11:15. After lunch, we rowed over to Turnbull Island and walked to the other side of the island, but there was no path elsewhere. We then rowed all around the north and south parts of Turnbull I. anchorage and around some of the enclosed islands. A thunderstorm blew up later in the afternoon from the NW and threatened us, but dissipated before it got to us. We had cocktails on “Islandia” with the crew of “Vahevala” - Bryan and Linda - from , NY, on the Lake Ontario shore just north of Buffalo. After dinner aboard, we went back to “Islandia” for a final sing-along with Bob and Diane, who are pushing west to Drummond, MI, USA; they need to get to the Michigan west coast to pick up a friend who will join them for a few days of cruising in Lake Michigan. So, we bid them a fond farewell to our cruising buddies of the last two weeks and hope to catch up with them again somewhere in the Tennessee lakes. “Vahevala” is heading to Sault Ste. Marie, to stick their toe in Lake Superior for a few days, before they, too, head south.
