Paul B. had a 06:00 flight out (heading back to the States), so he was up before 04:00. I slept in till 08:30, then got up and went to breakfast at the hotel restaurant. After Googling “things to do in Lisbon”, I settled on a 3-hour guided electric bicycle tour, starting at 12:00. I took the Metro back to town, exiting at Terreiro Paco. From there I walked along the waterfront to the east end of the Alfama district, opposite the Military Museum, where the Lisbon Cycle Tours shop was located. The guide was about 30 minutes late, so I went to get a coffee at a waterfront cafe. Ricardo, my guide, showed up at 12:30 and we took off; I was the only tourist, so I got the full personal touch. We roamed all over the old Moorish section, checked out a few hilltop views, then headed to the north side of the downtown area, before circling back via Bairro Alto, where Ricardo pointed out his favorite restaurant. We were back at the shop about 15:45, after which I took the scenic walk through Alfama’s narrow, winding streets, across Rossio Square to Alfaia (corner of Travessa da Quiemada and Rua do Diario da Noticias), where I had an excellent early dinner. After taking the Metro back to the hotel and I was in bed by 20:30.
