Up this morning to a cool, cloudy, rainy morning, but the wind forecast was favorable (or at least not bad) for our planned run to Montauk, NY. So, we up and left shortly after 09:00. At the start the wind was a bit too fine on the bow to get a sail up, so we motored the first half of the 20 mile run in nearly flat seas. About 11:00, the wind backed around about 30 degrees to S and we got the jib up and motored sailed all the way to the entrance to Montauk Harbor. We moved on through town to Lake Montauk and anchored off of the Montauk Yacht Club about 13:00. After lunch, we rowed into town for a walk and a look round. We bought some pork chops at the fresh market and had a beer/wine at Swallow East, then rowed back to “c’est le bon” for dinner.
