Slept in a bit after last night’s celebration. We had breakfast at Pan Chancho and then went grocery shopping at Price Chopper and LCBO; we are all good now for a few days (interestingly, Bombay Sapphire costs only CAN$1 more than Gordon’s, although they are both outrageously expensive compared to Texas, so I guess we will be drinking Sapphire for a few months; oh, the sacrifices one makes to cruise). After a last check of e-mails and booking tickets for the 1000 Islands Playhouse production of “Pirates of Penzance” on Saturday night, we got off the dock about 12:45 and motored and sailed (sailed for about an hour in 6-7 knots of wind, until it quit altogether) about 15 miles through the Bateau Channel (between Howe Island and the mainland) to the Admiralty Islands. We found an empty slip at Aubrey Island, which is operated by Parks Canada. A nice gentleman on “Knot Compromised” helped to us tie up to the short dock. We all had a nice chat over docktails, then cooked dinner aboard. When I got my guitar out, John (“Knot Compromised”) said he played, so he brought his guitar over and we jammed for a while; it was good fun.
