A few of the fishermen were up and away early, but not many. Most of them are waiting for the late afternoon opening of the fishery. We took advantage of the WiFi at the marina and did a few regular, routine maintenance chores in the morning and finally got going about 11:30. There was virtually no wind all the way to Numas Island, so we motored all the way around the west end of Malcolm Island, then across the Queen Charlotte Strait. On the way, the cell coverage was good enough that we were able to stream a bit of the Astros v Seattle ball game; Astros eventually won 8-3. Once at the Numas Islands, we poked into a couple of potential anchorages at the east end of the group, but they were both deep right up to the shore and quite small with very little protection, so we moved on to a spot about midway along on the north side of Numas Island. There, we were able to find a spot in about 8 m of water where the anchor held well, we were protected from the NW wind and we got a stern line to shore to stop us swinging, as there really is not room. We had the hook down and the engine off by 14:50. This is a cool little anchorage, on a deserted island, that is not listed in any of the guide books that we have on board. “Massilia” rafted alongside, as usual. I took us about an hour to get the stern line sorted out. Happy hour and dinner aboard.
