It rained several times during the night but cleared up a bit by mid-morning, so we were able to explore the Takush Harbour pass-through, although the water was too low to get all the way through. The rest of the day, while waiting for HW slack at the Narrows, was spent doing chores, reading and sun-bathing. We finally emptied the forward water tank and switched to the stern tank. We finally got the anchor up at 15:10. We motored slowly through the shallows leaving Ahclakerho Basin and at the Basin Narrows. Once through there, the wind was SW 10-12, so we sailed under jib all the way to the eastern end of the Channel. We finally turned up toward the Narrows and furled the jib just after 17:00. We were through the 2nd and 1st Narrows by 17:30 and initially tried to anchor in a small cove just north of the 1st Narrows, but it was either too deep or too narrow or the holding less than optimal. So, we moved on to Anchor Cove at the junction of the Ahclakerho Channel and Smith Inlet, where we were able to find an anchorage more or less in the middle of the cove in 15 m of water. Early to bed in preparation for tomorrow’s long planned trek to Port McNeil.
