The forecast NW 20-30 wind never blew in during the night, so it was very quiet at anchor. We waited until after low water at 11:40 to get underway. Shortly after we departed, we had the sails up and had a grand race up Baynes Sound all the way to Sandy Island Marine Park, where I dropped the anchor at 17:10. “c’est le bon” won this unofficial race, taking line honors and the overall win by 15 minutes on corrected time, even we give “Massilia” 30 seconds per mile. The water was relatively warm (66.5 F) and it was quite warm out in the sun, so we both went for a swim, a very brief swim in my case. After dinner, we rowed ashore and had an excellent walk around the island. Other than a couple of kayakers and a camping couple, the island was deserted. This is a really neat place and we will be back the next time we are in the neighborhood.
