We slept in a bit, but got going about 10:30, to make the Draney Narrows HW slack at 12:35. After we got through the narrows, it was a short run north around the corner to Johnston Bay, where we anchored at 14:00. After we anchored, I rowed around the bay and looked in on a camping shelter/cabin for kayakers/hunters on the shoreline. Graham caught a 30 pound Coho on the way in, so we feasted on fresh-caught salmon for dinner, along with a melange of vegetables. John rowed out to the end of the bay after dinner to set the prawn trap, but had a close encounter with three humpbacks and decided to retreat. We could hear them blowing off the mouth of the bay until well after midnight.
