We were up to a cool, low overcast morning, a bit early to make sure we got away from the dock well before LW (so we would not be aground). We were away from the dock by 9:20 and on our way to Edmonds. There were no slips available and the transient slips are first-come, first-served, but we pushed on anyway. A stop in at Langley confirmed there was no room at this marina and the available anchorage was about 3/4 mile from the dinghy dock and somewhat exposed so we pushed on to Edmonds. Nearing Edmonds, we called on the VHF and secured a 54 ft berth vacated by one of their long-term residents for a couple of weeks; we were tied up at the dock at 13:38. After we settled in, we walked up into town, where the Admiral was able to buy a ceramic Guinea fowl that she has been coveting since our last visit here a couple of years ago. We came back to the boat for dinner and to watch the Astros lose a heartbreaker to the hated NY Yankees (with quite a bit of help from the home plate ump). It was a beautiful evening and we had a nice chat with Michael, who owns the Beneteau 43 parked right behind us; he recommended that we check out Port Madison, on the north end of Bainbridge Island. We cooked salmon and mixed veggies on the boat for dinner and enjoyed a quiet evening on the boat.
