We slept very well and got up to enjoy a nice, extended breakfast with Roger and Catherine. We finally got on the road just after 10:00. I had a teleconference with my GP at 12:30, so we had to pull off the road for a few minutes, so he could tell me what good shape I’m in. We pulled into Anacortes about 15:30 and immediately went to the boat yard to check out the boat. Skyline did not have the keys, North Island Boat had gone home for the day, Woody had not installed my solar panel (we later found out he went to Canada for the summer) and the bottom job and wax and buff of the topsides seem not to have been done, so I was not a happy camper. After checking into the room at the Anaco Bay Hotel, we went into town to get some dinner, but nearly every restaurant was closed because of the heat and the few that were open were already full or booked up for the night. In the end, we had to settle for take-out from the local Thai place, which we ate back in our room. And that, boys and girls, is the end of our Houston - Anacortes road trip.
