We were not up early, but there was no rush as the ebb was still running until 11:40 or so. We finally slipped our lines about 10:40 and motored NW along the west side of Point Roberts, past Tswassen and along the various banks offshore of south Vancouver. We motor-sailed all the way to False Creek Fisherman’s Wharf, where we were tied up by15:00. Canadian customs (CBSA) came down immediately, but took 1.5 hours to clear us in, including our first ever physical inspection of our boat; I believe they were convinced that we, being residents of Texas, had weapons aboard that we were not declaring. Anyway, they did not find any, and we were finally cleared in. John and Laurie, who had moved “Masillia” from Canoe Cove yesterday, along with Michael and Matthew and the two J’s joined us for happy hour. We all split up for dinner, then the Admiral and I went over to “Massilia” for night-caps with John and Laurie.

It was not easy to get up this morning, but we did. We enjoyed pain au chocolate for breakfast, then went for a major grocery shop at Granville Island. Normally, I hate grocery shopping, but it is so much fun at Granville Island, that I could go every day. Of course, a normal grocery shop requires about 15 purchases from merchants of different commodities, instead of just one big bill from the supermarket that sells everything. After lunch at Granville Market, we walked up to the local (small) supermarket for a few items that were not available. Then, the Admiral did another load of laundry while indulged myself with a visit to the local barbershop for a trim and a shave (first one since Halifax in 2015). Afterward, I picked up a few bottles of wine from Liberty Wine in Granville Market. Laurie and John decided to head out about 16:45 (I have no idea why) toward Plumper Cove, although they actually only made it as far as Snug Cove on Bowen Island - we will catch up with them tomorrow in Frenchman’s Cove. We had a very pleasant Captain’s Hour and dinner aboard while watching the Mariners @ Astros. Astros won 4-3.
