We had a long lie-in this morning and did not get moving until 08:30. After breakfast, I spent the morning working on the aft toilet, which has been backing up (in the bowl) and leaking onto the head floor for the last several days. After completely disassembling the plunger unit and de-scaling it and cleaning it up, I found a small crack in the casing. I repaired that with Bondic, but there was more water on the floor later in the afternoon, so I’m not sure that the repair will hold, or if there is another problem. We finally got going and had the hook up just before 13:00; the new stern line roller worked very well. We tried to sail after we got out of the bay, but the wind changed direction 180 degrees just after I got the whisker pole set up. So, we motored the short distance to Madeira Park, in Pender Harbour, where we were tied up to the public dock at 14:40. After shopping runs to the grocery and liquor stores, we enjoyed Captain’s Hour on “Massilia” whilst listening to the first hour or so of the leader’s debate, in advance of the upcoming Parliamentary elections. Then we walked the mile or so to the Grasshopper Pub for dinner. We got back to the boats about 22:00. Over planning liquids, we worked out that if we wanted to have 3 days in Princess Louisa Inlet, we would have to skip tomorrow’s planned stopover in Egmont and just go straight to PLI in one shot.
