We were up at the crack of 08:30 to get ready for the run across the Strait of Georgia to Sandy Island. The Settlers of Catan game, that Laurie came over with last night even though we did not play, has disappeared and cannot be found on either boat. The anchor was aweigh just after 10:00 and we picked up the prawn trap on the way out of the anchorage - only 61 prawns this time. The wind was light in the south so we motored all the way to the south side of Savary I., by which time we had boiled all the prawns. We sailed for an hour and a bit starting at noon-ish, and saw a humpback whale at 13:15. The wind dropped to 4 kn and was right on the nose by 13:30, so we motored for a while. Another humpback whale surfaced nearby at 13:41. By 14:50, the wind was back up to 9 or 10 kn and we were way ahead of “Massilia”, so we sailed for another hour or so until just to the east of the Comox bar. We motored across the bar and turned south to Sandy Island, where we anchored in 25 m of water at 16:50. “Massilia” rafted beside us about 20 minutes later. Happy hour and dinner aboard. After dinner, we searched high and low on both boats for the missing Settlers of Catan game, but it cannot be found. We can only conclude that somehow it fell overboard last night and nobody heard it splash.
