That’s it for the 2019 sailing season. We are heading home for Houston this morning. After a stop at Marine Safety Services in Seattle to drop off the life raft (for its 3-yr service; 1 year overdue) and the EPIRB (for its 3-yr service; also 1 year overdue), we hit the road toward Houston. Having passed close by Hell’s Canyon several times without ever stopping, we decided that this was the time and Baker City, OR (at one end of the Hell’s Canyon Scenic Byway) was conveniently a good day’s drive away. We left Seattle about noon and then pulled into Baker City just before 6:00 pm. Dinner was unremarkable, to say the least, but cheap, as was the Motel 6.
