We were up at our usual hour of 08:00 and rose to a beautiful, clear day. The forecast wind was fair (NW 10 - 15) for the run down to Hornby Island, so we got underway just after 10:00. The great Settlers of Catan mystery has been solved: just before we pulled out from the dock, John found the missing Settlers of Catan game underneath a sail bag on the middle part of the port deck, where it had been hiding for the last two days; the box top was a little bit squashed from having been trod on several times, but otherwise, it appears to be in good shape. Laurie has no idea how it got there. After topping off the fuel tank, we headed down Baynes Sound and had the sails and spinnaker up almost immediately. We timed the crossing of the Baynes Sound Connector (the cable ferry between Denman Island and Vancouver Island) successfully without having to alter course or speed. The wind gradually died as we approached Deep Bay (at the south end of Baynes Sound), so we started the engine at 13:50 and motored the rest of the way to Tribune Bay, where we anchored at 15:46, along with about 40 other boats - pretty typical of Tribune Bay. “Massilia” rafted beside us about half an hour later. After a quick, refreshing swim, we rowed ashore and were met by Ann, who drove us to her and Keith’s (Graham’s parents) cottage at the north end of Hornby Island, where we had a great reunion with Graham and Karen and a first meeting with young Rockfish (aka, Linden). We were treated to a wonderful dinner, accompanied by several excellent wines. Ann drove us back to the bay at about 23:00 and we rowed back out to the boats, for a celebratory whiskey.
