We were up in the pre-dawn darkness, as neither one of us could sleep, in anticipation of our long drive to Dallas. We actually left the hotel at 06:15 MDT, and drove east into the rising sun. I managed to stay awake until past Tucumcari, and then, finally, had to turn the wheel over to the Admiral. She drove all the rest of the way to Irving, where we spent the night with sister Eileen; 622 unremarkable miles in 10 hours. After a quick happy hour, Eileen drove us to dinner at Lazy Dog Restaurant; excellent bison meatloaf.
