After a beautiful, quiet night at Genoa Bay Marina, we were up before 08:00, thanks to another phone call from our daughter in Maine, who never seems to remember there is a 3 hour time zone difference. Anyway, we got up and had breakfast, including an excellent, fresh cinnamon bun from the dockside. I then spent nearly 2 hours working on the port-side safety netting that we started yesterday; this side is a bit more work because of the jib furling line and the lee rail (where we secure such items as the spinnaker, spare propane bottle, diesel gerry can and water butts). We finally got underway about 10:45 and motored all the way to Sidney against SE 9. We took an hourly slip at Port Sidney Marina at 12:45 and went for a quick grocery shop at Fairway, very conveniently located within a couple hundred yards of the marina. The cupboards were replenished and the dock lines were slipped by 14:00 and we had a late lunch aboard as we motored slowly toward Portland Island. On the advice of John, we pulled into a little anchorage on the southeast side of Portland Island, just to the north of the Pellow Islands; it is a bit exposed to SE winds and ferry wakes, but otherwise a nice, secluded spot - nobody else was in here with us, whereas Princess Bay had 7 or 8 boats in it when we went past. The hook was down and set by 15:25 and we settled in for a quiet afternoon. I spent another hour and a half tidying up some of the safety netting at the bow. The Admiral was not too happy about the occasional ferry wakes that work in here, but, as of happy hour time, she had not insisted on relocating. It clouded up about happy hour, so it was a chilly sunset. John and Laurie just advised they were on the 20:00 ferry; we are concerned they will persist in coming on over to Pellow Islands and not arrive until midnight or 02:00 - madness!! But that is John for you.
