After a light breakfast, Luke and I had a go at the sticky water heater element. Between us and the two foot cheater bar I had after cutting the stainless steel lee bar to length, we were able to loosen the old element. Replacing it with the new element was a piece of cake; and just like that, we were back in business with regard to hot water. What a relief to take care of that chore. To celebrate, we walked back up to Pike Place Market to get some fresh-caught Conner River King salmon and other groceries. We made it back to the boat in time to pull away from the dock at 11:10. After a quick pump-out, we were off to Blake Island to check out the Washington State Marine Park, which was even nicer than expected. The docks were great, and there were only 3 other boats there. We had a good walk around the island and then got back in time to watch a huge thunderstorm roll over us; lots of rain, but no lightning, fortunately. After the rain passed, we grilled the salmon and some cauliflower and potatoes for dinner. Lovely.
