Twenty-two years since that dark day in US history; long may we remember. We all slept in and then had breakfast on board, including the huge cinnamon bun that John and Laurie brought from Campbell River. After a couple of cups of coffee, we finally got going just after 11:00. We had the engine off and the sail up within minutes and sailed all the way to the entrance to Malcolm Island, where we tied up in the harbor at noon. Immediately after landing, we borrowed the bikes and rode into Sointula to have lunch at Coho Joes. After lunch, we went up to Uusi Elama Artisan Gift Shop, then Annisa Reed Designs for gifts for kids and grandkids, followed by Malcolm Island Food, where we bought a couple of frozen pre-prepared meals, which are reportedly delicious. On the way back to the boat, we picked a bunch of blackberries along the side of the road. We were back at the boat by about 16:00 and hid out from the intermittent rain showers for the rest of the afternoon.
