We were up early again, since we had a tidal gate to make. Unbelievably, it is another gorgeous day, although the wind has shifted around to the NW and picked up a bit; still, only NW 6. The dock lines were slipped at 07:40 and we motored all the NW to the Dodd Narrows, where we arrived exactly at 11:33 to hit slack water. Unfortunately, we had to wait for half an hour for two tugs pulling log booms to come through headed south. We finally got through at noon and headed straight to Port of Nanaimo Marina, where we took a slip at 12:45. As of now, we are one day ahead of my straw schedule and planning to head up to Deep Bay (or maybe Sandy Island or Comox) tomorrow. On the other hand, we still have not been granted a permit to enter Glacier Bay. After a quick lunch, we walked up to Thrifty Foods to top up on groceries. After we got back, Terri did a load of laundry and I filled up the 3 solar showers and lashed them down on the foredeck. We both took showers - me on the boat and she up at the marina - and then went to dinner at The Nest Bistro; and it was excellent, as expected.
