After a good night’s sleep, I awoke to the silence of no rainfall or wind noise and the feel of sunshine on the hull, for the first time in about 2 weeks. Hooray!! We basked in the warmth through breakfast. After passing LW at 08:32, we got going - at about 10:00, so we could have a better look at this area. We motored south to the bottom of El Capitan Passage, taking the eastern branch through Tenass Pass, where I hoped to encounter less of the flood current. I guess this succeeded, as we only saw maximum 1.0 kn of foul current, whereas the prediction through Skookumchuck Pass was 2.2 kn of foul current. After passing into the very north end of Sea Otter Sound, we turned west between Hoot and Owl Islands and Orr Island and pulled up into Cyrus Cove, where we anchored in 13m of water at 12:15. It started to sprinkle almost immediately, but nothing compared to the last several days. We lazed around all afternoon, reading and napping. The sun actually came out for an hour or so later in the evening, but it clouded up again before sunset. We are, once again, all alone in this anchorage, having seen exactly 1 sport fishing boat; although there is a sizable camp with a dock and a 50-ish ft gin palace tied up beside it on the south side of Orr Island about 1 N-m (as the raven flies) to the SE of us. Tomorrow, I think we will head over to Salt Lake Bay.
