It was cold when we woke up about 07:30, but clear-ish, so it warmed up in the cockpit. We got going just after 09:00 and headed over to Salt Lake Bay. After we got out of Cyrus Cove, we rounded the west side of Owl Island and headed SE across Sea Otter Sound. It was so calm and sunny, that I launched the drone and took 10 minutes of videos of “c’est le bon” underway. We made our way through Karheen Passage, with the flood behind us, and then on to Tonowek Narrows, where the flood was against us at a speed of 3kn. After that, it was simply a matter of working our way a few miles south to the entry to Salt Lake Bay. The entry is a bit shallow with some charted rocks to avoid, but we got through at half-tide (+1.5m) with a minimum observed depth of 5.4 m. Then, we anchored in the NE corner of the bay in 9.5 m WD and settled down to enjoy the afternoon sun. Hopefully, the boat will dry out a bit.
