We were all alone in the anchorage last night and it was absolutely calm and still, so we slept like rocks and did not wake up until 08:30. The morning fog did not lift until nearly 10:00. We started getting the anchor up about 10:40, but it came up with a 200 pound ball of kelp on it, which took a while to clear. Then, right at the end, the chain came off the gypsy again and I had to pull all 135 ft of chain out of the locker up onto the deck to get to the rode, which I could feed back onto the gypsy, then wind the chain up again. So, it was well after 11:15 by the time we finally got going. After running to the end of Beaver Passage, we turned south into Principe Channel, between Banks Island and McCauley Island and headed SE with a NW 7 wind behind us. The original plan was to go to Colby Bay, on the east side of Banks Island, and stop there for the night, but we pulled in there at about 13:30 and decided we should make good use of the good weather and move on a bit more to the SE. So, we continued on down to Patterson Inlet, where we anchored just after 16:00. I launched the drone to get some footage of us making our way up the last couple of miles into the inlet. It was smokier today than it has been, although still way less noticeable than it was in Smith Inlet in 2018. After we anchored, we settled down for a lovely, warm evening. The wind died off and it was absolutely still and quiet again. And, once again, we are all alone in the anchorage. After sunset, I discovered that there is an excellent echo in the inlet and had some good fun whistling and shouting to hear my reply. It stirred up the birds in the area a bit, too. And, the Astros trounced the Detroit Tigers 17-4, to win that series, after a miserable 1st game. The pennant race is on, for sure.
