Happy Bastille Day. Vive la France!! We slept very well again; it was cool overnight and overcast with intermittent rain when we awoke. John and Laurie went back to Sally’s to buy some stain-glass windows and then up to the artisan group at the church, then back to town for some tubing, then for showers, then to fill up with diesel. We finally got going about 14:30 and motored south along Tahsis Inlet for 4 miles, until we turned right into Tahsis Narrows, where we picked up a couple of knots of favorable tidal current for a mile or so. Then, we turned left up into McBride Bay, where we anchored at 16:45 in 22 m of water, with a line ashore to some old pilings left over from some sort of plant (fish reduction or logging or something). Massilia came alongside a few minutes later. As soon as they were all tied up, John and I rowed out and set our prawn traps (now that we are in true survival mode until we reach Port Hardy) in 100 m of water a few hundred yards away. Then, it was time for Captain’s hour and dinner.
